ABOUT DR. MACLEAN
Dr. MacLean is an audiologist with PhD level training in electrophysiology (EEG). Recording brain responses to sounds allows hearing assessments to be conducted on those patients who cannot provide behavioral responses (e.g., infants, young children, and the physically challenged).
Electrophysiological assessments also provide insight into the health of the nervous system and are part of a diagnostic workup for any suspected pathological process in the auditory nervous system.
Dr. MacLean holds a research associate position with Dr. Lawrence Ward in the Department of Psychology at UBC where she uses EEG to investigate the nature of auditory discrimination.
She is a member of the:
– Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists (CSCN)
– Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (CASLPA)
– Canadian Psychological Association (CPA)
– Cognitive Neuroscience Society (CNS)
Dr. MacLean is registered with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHHPBC).
